Francis J. "Frank" Reilly was from Chatham, NJ. He joined the United States Navy in 1968 and attended basic training at Great Lakes, IL.after A School, he joined RIVDIV 593 at Nha Be, Vietnam in late October of 1969, transferring in from another in country command.

He returned to the States in March of 1970 and reported to the USS LaSalle in Norfolk, VA. In 1971 the LaSalle moved to the Philadelphia Shipyard for an overhaul.Petty Officer Reilly was killed in a motorcycle accident on October 12, 1971. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for action on Operation Ready Deck, conducted on the upper Saigon River. He also, received a Purple Heart for wounds received in combat while serving with the Ironbutterfly.

His mother, Winifred Reilly still lives in Chatham and is a memorial member of Gamewardens.
