Biography

MICHAEL F. PERSICO, born August 8, 1948, in Waterbury, CT. He entered the service July 26, 1966 to February 28, 1969 and from October 20, 1977 to present.

Duty Stations from 1966 to 1990: USS Ranger (CVA-61); forward gunner River Section 543/544 and RIV DIV 593 located at Nha Be in the Rung Sat Special Zone; USS Dyess (DD-880); COMNAVSURFGRU Four staff; USS Miller (FF-1091); NAVRESREDCOMREG One staff; COMNAVRESFOR staff; PSA Norfolk staff; and from November 1990 to present, Bureau of Naval Personnel staff.

His awards include the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V and three Gold Stars, Navy Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon, Battle E Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal with Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal, Naval Reserve Sea Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, RVN Meritorious Unit Citation Civil Action, RVN Campaign Medal, Navy Pistol Marksman Medal and the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist Device.

Currently, a master chief personnelman attached to BUPERS as the assistant for Reserve matters for PASS programs. He married Audrey Rund on October 24, 1970; they have three daughters: Tara, Dina and Jena.
